OUR CHALLENGE
PPR&C was tasked to deliver a PR campaign around Australia for the Australian Sports Foundation (ASF) and the release of their second report on the effects of Covid-19 on community sport and sporting clubs.
As a follow up to the original ASF report 12 months ago, this new report was conducted to understand the long term effects of the pandemic on community sport clubs and their ability to continue to function successfully for their local communities.
OUR RESPONSE
PPR&C proposed a campaign that took the results further than simply sports media.
It was obvious that sports media would be very interested in the report and its findings, but the campaign went broader and deeper and generated extensive coverage in early general news, talkback radio and Breakfast TV because of its relevance to Australia’s sporting culture and the importance of community sports clubs across the nation.
OUR OUTCOMES
The campaign which commenced Tuesday 21 September, 2021, and finished Friday 1 October, 2021 reached an audience of over 8,509,390 and had an advertising space rate of over $3,637,600 AUD. Besides securing multiple news stories in national newspapers such as Herald Sun, Sydney Morning Herald, The Age and the Canberra Times, interviews were also conducted across TV channels such as ABC News 24 Breakfast, Seven, Nine and Sky TV as well major radio stations such as ABC Radio National Breakfast, ABC News Radio and ABC Radio in major capital cities.
