OUR CHALLENGE

The Australian Sports Foundation launched a national campaign to help it determine the impact on community sports clubs from the COVID-19 pandemic, and to quantify the funding challenges facing community clubs across Australia.

The campaign was based on a mass survey of community clubs to help determine additional funding needs and identify the best way for the Australian Sports Foundation to assist clubs get their members back to doing what they love.

OUR RESPONSE

PPR&C were tasked to generate extensive media coverage around Australia to help increase the number of surveys completed by community clubs.

 

PPR&C proposed a compelling Australia wide campaign that focused on the results of a pilot survey by the Australian Sports Foundation that showed that there are significant problems that may lead to many community clubs falling by the wayside.

Patrick Walker, CEO of the Australian Sports Foundation, was offered for interview to talk about he issues facing community sports club, the results for the pilot survey and possible solutions ahead.

Case studies were sourced in key regional locations to talk to media about their issues and the effects of COVID-19 on them and their clubs.

OUR OUTCOMES

Extensive regional and rural as well as capital city media coverage was achieved and at the conclusion of the campaign 4,127 unique community clubs responded to the survey.
