DESIGN Canberra Festival

Arguably Australia's most esteemed design festival, the annual DESIGN Canberra Festival attracts local, interstate and international artists, architects, photographers and sculptors, promiting Canberra as a global city of design.

Presented by Craft ACT: Craft and Design Centre, the month long festival featured over 100 events, exhibitions, talks, tours, markets, artist studios and open homes.

Progressive PR and Communications were engaged to execute a national communications strategy to increase interstate media coverage and visitation. This involved leveraging the incredible talent involved in the festival to media, the wonderfully visual nature of the Festival’s installations and design works and inviting and hosting key national and interstate media to Canberra. Parallel to this national strategy, a local media strategy was also produced, and relationships fostered with local arts media. Finally, Progressive PR and Communications were also charged with negotiating and securing media partnerships with various local and national media outlets on behalf of the festival.
