Reinvigorated Martha Cove to Launch

-

Martha Cove today confirmed that the development of the long-awaited Martha Cove Town Centre is now underway.  The 7ha Town Centre, which will provide the retail and entertainment needs of the Martha Cove residents, has lain dormant for nearly 10 years.

The Town Centre, once fully complete, will offer restaurants, cafes, providores, retail shopping and a marina plaza stepping directly down to the water’s edge, while completion of already commenced roadworks and marina plaza is scheduled for July – August 2017.

As well as completing the infrastructure for the entire Town Centre and the first multi-purpose restaurant, the first stage which began in January 2017 includes the first waterfront residential apartment building: The Moorings.

Set only metres from the water, The Moorings offers 43 apartments designed by award winning architect Karl Fender of Fender Katsalidis.  Two, three and four bedroom waterfront dwellings plus over 450m2 of Restaurant space on water’s edge will be on offer, with the ground floor apartments providing direct access to the waterfront via private landscaped courtyards.

Each apartment will be meticulously finished to the highest of standards and due for completion in the third quarter 2018.

According to Murry Offord of Martha Cove the new development will connect the entire Martha Cove community.

“Already over 800 families strong Martha Cove’s new retail and restaurant offering will make sure that everyone can enjoy this unique environment.”

Set on 94 hectares, Martha Cove is the only waterfront retail and residential master-planned estate on the Mornington Peninsula with direct access to the Melbourne CBD in less than 50 minutes.  Boat owners are particularly well catered for with an integrated harbour offering 300 wet berths, a full service marine maintenance facility and a 300-boat dry-stack facility boasting concierge and valet services.

The development of the Town Centre will inject over $200 million of new investment into the Mornington Peninsula and will create over 160 full time jobs at Martha Cove alone.

According to Offord, Martha Cove offers residents an unparalleled lifestyle with amenities, services and entertainment on their doorstep.

“Everything is special at Martha Cove:  Stunning beaches, outstanding cafes and restaurants of all size and cuisine, superb hiking through a choice of National Parks, some of Victoria’s best golf courses, water sports on the bay and award winning boutique wineries all on our doorstep.

“We need to make Martha Cove just as special, and we believe that the safe harbour provided by the marina and its associated retail offerings will make Martha Cove a must-see destination.

“Just as importantly the plethora of new business opportunities that the Martha Cove development brings to the peninsula will provide a welcome boost to the local economy and create jobs and drive tourism,” he continues.

The launch of The Moorings and works on the Town Centre will see the Martha Cove development that began in 2005 start to be fully realised as a benchmark in waterfront living.
