Ring In Chinese New Year At Citadines On Bourke

Melbourne, Australia, Monday 22 January 2018 – On Friday 16th February, the award winning Citadines on Bourke Melbourne will welcome in the Year of the Dog with traditional Chinese New Year decorations, fortune cookies and a spectacular Lion Dance for guests and the general public to enjoy.

Citadines’ laneway inspired lobby will be adorned with traditional red lanterns and will be celebrating the Chinese New Year with customised fortune cookies filled with messages of luck and prosperity. Citadines will be transformed into a cultural hub full of colour and live entertainment, welcoming all to come and enjoy.

From 2pm on Friday 16th February, two vibrant lucky lions will roam the Apart’hotel Lobby and deliver a festive 20-minute performance known as the Seven Star Romancing the Moon. A full music percussion team will create sounds from the drums, gongs, and a cymbalist as both lions dance their way through the lane to wish good luck, fortune and wealth.

Traditional celebrations to honour what the New Year brings will have guests gifted oranges that customarily represent gold, good fortune and wealth, before getting the chance to take photos with the lions and their auspicious Chinese lucky scrolls.

Citadines on Bourke Melbourne invites the public to come along to join in the celebrations as we usher in the year of the dog.

The Citadines on Bourke Melbourne Lion Dance will take place from 2.00pm-2.30pm on Friday 16th February 2018 and is located at Ground Floor, 131-135 Bourke Street, Melbourne VIC 3000.
