KIDNEY HEALTH AUSTRALIA - RED SOCKS APPEAL AND RED SOCKS WALKS 2021

 

OUR CHALLENGE

PPR&C was tasked to deliver a PR campaign around Australia for Kidney Health Australia and their annual Red Socks Appeal and Red Socks Walks.

Coverage was designed to inspire more Australians into action to understand the impact of the disease on their lives and those close to them, as well as raising vital funds for early detection activities and support services to alleviate the impact and harm kidney disease causes.

OUR RESPONSE

PPR&C proposed a campaign that focused on powerful human-centered stories to highlight the Appeal and enable media to humanise the issues and give them a simple way to tell the story to their audiences.

Physical locations of the Red Socks Walks also provided media with a hook for their stories.

OUR OUTCOMES

The campaign which commenced Monday 30 August, 2021, and finished Sunday 31 October, 2021 reached an audience of 3,648,197 and had an advertising space rate of over $549,640 AUD.

Highlights included Channel Nine News Melbourne, Herald Sun, QWeekend magazine in the Courier Mail, ABC Radio Brisbane, ABC Radio Melbourne, ABC SA regional statewide drive show and multiple radio and newspaper stories across rural and regional Australia.

In particular, the campaign was extremely successful providing pre recorded news grabs to radio news desks for easy use and coverage across Australia at the start of October was remarkable.
