The team at Afro Hub, a unique platform for creative African Australians, are ending the weekends on a high note by hosting live music sessions on Sunday evenings.

Every Sunday from 6pm the multi-purpose Carlton North venue is presenting a lively performance from a talented African Australian musician.

The Afro Hub Sunday sessions will kick off with 21-year-old Ethiopian soul singer Soli Tesema – who appeared on the third season of The Voice – performing live each Sunday throughout October 2016.

Other musicians taking the microphone over the coming weeks include Mac Eleven, Sophie G, Houcci, Deng Tebir, Petti Kash, Khash Diverse and AZZY.

To complement the live music, guests can order share plates and snacks from the East African-inspired menu and wash the food down with a range of African beers, wines and African-inspired cocktails.

As well as live music on Sundays, Afro Hub is running spoken word evenings on the last Thursday of every month. Soreti Kadir is the featured artist for the first Afro Hub Poetry Slam on Thursday, 27 October 2016.
